Both Craig and Luke were recently fortunate enough to experience the first class product on-board Emirates’ A380 from Beijing to London via Dubai. For the first time ever we couldn’t wait to board and settle in a private suite that felt like a luxurious cubby house 40,000 feet in the sky.
The journey began with a complimentary chauffeur pick up, which took me to the airport. Upon arrival at the airport I was able to use the Emirates First Class check-in desk that helped me breeze through the check-in process and be on my way to the Emirates Lounges.
Within moments of boarding the plane I was served a glass of Dom Perignon champagne, a hot lemon-scented towel and gourmet food and drink menus. Each person in First Class had a personal flight attendant. They were very lovely and helpful throughout the entire flight catering to my requests promptly. The flight attendants on board my flight were from 21 countries speaking 24 different languages.
Emirates offer an a la carte dining option for its first class passengers, so we could dine at anytime during the flight. The quality of the catering on the flight was of a very high standard; a white linen tablecloth is spread for each meal and each course is served on Royal Doulton bone china plates with exclusive Robert Welch cutlery.
As shown in the pictures bellow each cabin was stocked with complementary snack baskets, which contained a packet of pringles, mints, walker’s shortbread, a mars bar and a muesli bar.
On the side of the cabin next to each seat was our very own private drinks cabinet. This contained a can of Coca-Cola light, 7Up, normal Coca-Cola, a bottle of Voss water, Perrier and juice. Keeping in mind that we could order any drink we wanted at any time of the flight from the extensive list of top shelf products.
If your like us and want something a little bit more socialising then you can head down the back of the First Class and Business wing and enjoy a cocktail at the on-board bar area and utilise the on-board Wi-Fi to call our family 40,000 feet in the air. We think they were a little jealous of how awesome this experience was.
Each cabin is equipped with a very large Panasonic screen, which consisted of over 1200 channels of entertainment and games, from the latest films to classics. I spent the whole flight staying awake to make to most of my experience in first class occasionally I reclined my flat bed out and enjoyed a nap just so I could experience what it was like to sleep on the flat beds.
An hour before landing into London I indulged in a refreshing shower at 40,000 feet, it had a selection of Bvlgari toiletries and signature Timeless spa products. The shower spa was very spacious and even had heated flooring. To be able to shower on-board a flight is remarkable and refreshing and if you haven’t yet showered on a plane, add it to your bucket list.
Another experience that I can now tick of the bucket list; it was defiantly an incredible and memorable experience!
